Feature barrel vaulted ceilings are in spacious entrance hall, elegant Salotto and dining room decorated with superb murals, all open to terraces and garden. A study combines family television room, complemented by a large well-equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms with bathrooms en suite includes a tower bedroom, ‘La Colombaia,’ with spectacular views.
Formal terrace plantings lead down to a swimming pool (15m x 5m) dramatic when floodlit that adjoins the Fienile Guest Annexe.
What we think: We love this very private and beautiful house with its far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Bedrooms are all comfortable and well furnished with good bathrooms and there are lovely sitting areas inside and out. The newly designed 27-hole Golf Course at Castelfalfi is a few minutes’ drive from the house. Florence is not too far away and we suggest catching the train from Pontedera. The English speaking staff will ensure you have a relaxing time.

Oh!! We cannot begin to tell you what wonderful memories (and many pounds) we brought back with us from La Civettaia.
We will do everything we can possibly do to get back to that beautiful home with Hilly and Cristian. We are glad to report that there is not a single thing we can think of to improve the property or our experience. Hilly and Cristian were delightful and thought of every want before we knew there was one. They were so charming and professional and gently resisted our efforts to adopt them into the family. As locals, they were so helpful setting up or tracking down a wide variety of restaurant and activity requests with terrific recommendations or bookings.
The house and pool area are brilliantly laid out to accommodate the 11 of us – which is not an easy thing to do. Except for a few sessions catching up on work, we rarely stayed inside, but it was well outfitted so that we could have stayed indoors if needed…………2019
